UK. AION & LABYRINTHITIS. Jacob will present and discuss his Aion project, an evocative sonic and visual installation that considers time, absence and change, created in spaces within the Tarkovskian 'Zone of Exclusion' in Chernobyl, Ukraine. Following Aion, Kirkegaard turns ears inwards with a live performance of Labyrinthitis, his acclaimed interactive sound piece which is built upon 'Tartini tones' - sounds generated in the artist's own ears - layered into a composition which evokes further distortion effects in the ears of his listeners. The Wire chose Labyrinthitis as one of the 10 best releases of 2008. ARNOLFINI, Bristol, UK, Saturday Nov 7th.

DENMARK. Premiering the performance RUSSIA written & directed by Cecilie Ullerup Schmidt. In May 2009 Jacob Kirkegaard was sent on a 10-day trip to Russia to trace & capture the "Sound of Russia. His recordings will be heard throughout the performance. RUSSIA will be presented at the NyAveny theatre on Frederiksberg, followed by a series in the city of Aarhus. Premiere date is Oct 26

COPENHAGEN. For two days in April Jacob will be visiting the students at the Nordic Sound Art project at the Royal Art Academy in Copenhagen Denmark

COLOGNE. 'WORLD'S END GIRLFRIEND' is a new dance performance by Yoshie Shibahara with music by Jacob Kirkegaard. The piece will be performed on April 24th & 25th at the Alte Feuerwache in Cologne Germany. WORLD'S END GIRLFRIEND is Yoshie & Jacob's 3rd collaboration. ISA- In 2004 the piece "Ultima Thule" won the Cologne Dance Prize.

SÅ LÆNGE JEG LEVER (AS LONG AS I LIVE) is a work consisting of sound piece and photos captured and shot at the Island of the Dead in Venice, Italy.
