THE INNOCENT EAR. Panel discussion as part of Gong Tomorrow Festival: In sound art, so-called field recordings are used to collect material from the outside world, which is converted into sound works of art. But are there problems associated with that practice? The panel discussion raises questions about who represents and who is represented when artists collect sounds from their surroundings. Who holds the microphone and who is it pointed at? Under the heading "The innocence of the ear", the conversation focuses sharply on the relationship between sound art, ecocriticism and representation. Nov 11, 2022
